Barbara's Beautiful Basket

This basket measures about 12" by 8" and is 7" tall. It has a 6” x 10” racetrack slotted wooden base. The basket has natural stakes and dyed weavers. The lower two thirds of the This basket is woven in a over 2, under 1 twill pattern. There is quad twining with smoked and natural round reed. The upper portion of the basket is over, under and woven in short rows to create the shaped side. The rim is quad twined. The handle is wrapped and includes a piece of dyed reed and round smoked reed to create the design.
